ECPS Technology Disposal Procedures
Media Specialist/DLC will complete a work ticket for discards to be completed. Only one ticket is needed for discards to be picked up.
Technician will ensure technology item is non-repairable, non-usable, obsolete, expired warranty. Once deemed unusable, the technician will complete the fixed asset deletion form and send to Christy. Christy will make a copy of the form to be backed up.
Work ticket will be closed once completed by the technician. Technician should enter in all notes that are relevant. (Example: 10 monitors, 3 laptops, 4 screens, etc. to reflect the items that have been removed.
Christy will send the completed forms to Wendy Rountree to be removed from the inventory.
If item is in Destiny, item(s) should ALSO be deleted by being tracked as weeding. See Media Specialist/DLC for more assistance if needed. (NEW TAG ITEMS ONLY)
Item(s) should be removed from the location and taken to the West Edgecombe Middle Designated Storage (Discard) Room by the technician. Items should be placed in the room in an orderly/organized fashion. Example: All monitors together, phones together, etc.
If a technician notices large amounts when dropped off, Jennifer should be contacted to schedule a pick up.
If anyone has questions or concerns about items being deleted, they should contact Ryan or Joseph as soon as possible.
MEDIA/DLC - Schools should not contact maintenance to pick up items.
