Chromebook & Tablet Check out Procedures (BOY)
All ECPS Chromebooks & Tablets are inventoried through Destiny Asset Manager.
All devices should be fixed and ready for the new school year; however, if an issue arises at any point, please have teachers complete work orders.
- Teacher completes online training module before checking out chromebooks. Once the course is complete, the teachers will send a copy of their quiz grade to the DLC/Media Specialist.
- Teacher reports to the Media Center/Learning Commons to get cart.
- Media Coordinator/DLCs checks out Chromebooks to the Teacher (each chromebook checked out) and works with the Digital Teaching & Learning Specialists and the Technicians to secure enough chromebooks based on current Powerschool numbers.
- Teachers will get the highest enrolled class number of chromebooks per cart. Example: Ms. Smith has three blocks of students. Block 1: 25 kids, Block 2: 20 kids, Block 3: 18 kids - She will be assigned 25 chromebooks/tablets.
- ALL STUDENTS will complete the CIPA Course
- Teachers print and complete the CIPA Course sheet and turn into the school's Digital Literacy Coach BEFORE students use technology in their school. DLCs will keep these documents on file at the school and renew each school year.
- For the first 10 days, DLC/Media along with Technicians & Digital Teaching & Learning Specialists will ensure numbers for students to use in each classroom daily. Teachers who have an immediate need for additional chromebooks due to testing, will request from the DLC/Media in collaboration with the Technicians. (TESTING IS THE PRIORITY)
- Teacher returns the cart to their room and checks/plugs in devices
- After the first 10 days, additional chromebooks should be requested through the work order system.
- Technician will get approval and place a new device in the cart AFTER checking it out to the teacher through Destiny.
- If a classroom loses students throughout the year, devices should be turned in through Destiny and given to the assigned technician.
